Dr. Kolbe grew up traveling the world with her foreign service family before eventually calling Washington, D.C. her home. She then moved across the country to attend undergrad at the University of Oklahoma where she majored in classics and gender studies. During her time there, she was active in community advocacy around LGBTQ+ health and reproductive rights. These interests propelled her into medical training which included a post-baccalaureate program at Johns Hopkins University and medical school at Brown University. She fell in love with pediatrics and went on to complete residency training at Vanderbilt University.
As a new pediatrician, she is especially interested in newborn care, adolescent medicine, mental health, and autism. She values open dialogue, continuity, and shared decision-making in her relationships with families. She is excited to move back home to the DC area to join the Kidz Docs family!
Dr. Kolbe will join The Kidz Docs in August 2025.
